The first thing you should do is verify their contractors license and Qualifier Certificate.  Make sure it is current.  All businesses must have a Dwelling Contractor Financial Responsibility Certificate and must have one staff member who holds a Dwelling contractor Qualifier Certificate.  The Qualifier Certificate requires continuing education to stay current.
