Radon Reduction

Thankfully, radon testing and remediation aren’t typically difficult processes, and they don’t have to be expensive. Our experts are trained in quickly identifying the proper abatement solution for all scenarios and will act promptly to protect your home. The most common radon mitigation systems include the following:

  • Sub-slab depressurization
  • Drain-tile depressurization
  • Sump depressurization

Using any of these three methods creates a vacuum, or negative pressure, beneath the home, which helps to draw out soil gases (including radon) from underneath the slab.

Depressurization Methods

This radon removal method creates suction pits below concrete floor slabs by drilling holes through the actual slab. Gases are vented out through PVC pipes that are inserted into the holes. Radon fans are then installed to help draw the dangerous gases out.

Because exposure to such gases can have harmful effects, our radon experts strictly follow all EPA standards of practice.

In some foundations, perforated pipes and drain tiles were preemptively installed to draw unwanted water away from the home and back into the ground. Applying suction to these pipes and tiles is often an effective radon removal solution.

Because exposure to such gases can have harmful effects, our radon experts strictly follow all EPA standards of practice.

With this method of radon remediation, radon is vented out of homes through a PVC vent pipe that is attached directly to a sump pump. A lid for the pump is added, which includes a vent pipe, a radon-resistant floor drain, and a discharge pipe. Harmful gases are then safely drawn outside and away from the sump pump.

Because exposure to such gases can have harmful effects, our radon experts strictly follow all EPA standards of practice.
